London GT Wars - Mclaren Joins the Fray

So in the depths of one of the hypercar capitals of the world London, England we have a new player that wishes into the realm of Grey Poupon rather than a helmet. The Grand Tourer coupe used to be the pinnacle of wealth success for those wishing to show some of there achievements on the road and in my mind the sexiest and most comfortable vehicles that you will see on the in the heart of the2 seaters. The GT also plays a separate role giving you the speed of some of the sportier sports coupes along with some agility, the coupe roofline with space for a "Chihuahua" in the back makes it enticing play but one that is seldom played due to needing the 4 seats of a sedan or live in a district with snow for the 4 door CUV leaders.

GT Definition: You could call it a Grand Tourer but the Italians would steer you differently to a term called the Grand Tourismo in which the GT acronym was derived from. The first vehicle to encompass this middle ground between space and speed was the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GT, Auto Manufacturers from Italy really ruled the roost of these vehicles from 1929 - 1956, until the racing need transpired and then we were left with the British who to me own this segment with a few fliers from the German segment Mercedes and Mercedes again...

Who is usually in this market well if you call out a GT there a couple of names that come to mind Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, and Jaguar ... yes, I said Jaguar but remember the E-Type. Mercedes has had several iterations of different nameplates for the Benz S-Class and have been successful in their quests of touching the British rulership. So where the hell is Mclaren coming from, a car that specializes in sports cars that defy logic and touch hypercar territory the same reason why Porshe does station wagons, Jaguar now does SUV's and Lamborghini has a truck. The dynamics of specialization are blurred and new players are stepping up to control all levels of the market. This transition is less drastic as they are still producing a 2 door coupe just with more space and all the interior goodies you expect from a luxury vehicle. Introducing the Mclaren GT:
