Bugatti Centodieci - $9 million of pleasures...

I don't know if a lot of people realize this but Bugatti is a French Car Maker, that is funded by the well-acclaimed VW group. The flow down of services has a lot of advantages if the brothers and sisters at Porshe, Audi, or Lamborghini approve. In this light what could be bad, absolutely nothing but Bugatti is now shifting its small niche cars to an even more acute realm with the release of the Bugatti Centodieci. Since we all haven't mastered Latin let's call out the name again and break down the syllables Cent-o-dieci..well I didn't get anything from that except after looking for the 10th time. The Cent reminds of Century which is equal to 100 years and the Dieci well I know some Spanish so it sounds close enough to Diez after all the Duolingo talk Centodieci is a 110 in Italian. In this iteration, there is one car that was built in the 1950s that jumpstarted Bugatti to the Automotive world and the model was called EB110, see how the names sometimes make sense (Don't ask me about Cadillac). This homage to the 1950's super sports car came back in a new form to reinvigorate the brand in the 1990s.

The design was developed in Italy, but with a strong French influence in the Italian town of Campogalliano, Italy. The honor of the EB110 developed itself on Ettore Bugatti's (the founder) 109th  birthday, The area was chosen due to it's close proximity to several Italian Sports Car Brands advantage/serve the caring is sharing model.  The model was released to the public on Ettore Bugatti's 110th birthday.

So here we are at a time when Bugatti is having big success and they are trying to reinterpret the EB110 in a new 3-dimensional design. The obvious base that they can build off of is the Bugatti Chiron but it's quite difficult to emulate a 2-dimensional design, wedge-shaped, and flat Bugatti chose to reinterpret what the design would look like now. Let's just hear it from the French themselves because there is a lot of detail that we have missed upon or won't be able to interpret in the same way:

"The front is subordinated to the generally low geometry of the vehicle, despite its original, predominant cooling surface. The newly developed, complex and very narrow headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights to provide the perfect match. Thanks to the newly developed lighting elements, we were stylistically free in the front and rear sections to pay respectful homage to the EB110 while at the same time transposing this appealing visual reminiscence into modern technology,” says Achim Anscheidt.

We incorporated the wedge-shaped design in the development process but we took it in a new direction,” says the designer. Instead of copying the classic Italian wedge in which the muscle runs from the rear to the front wheel, suggesting a dynamic leap forward, Bugatti strikes out on a new path in the Centodieci. The otherwise dominant Bugatti line, the C-line on the B pillar, gives way to a new design Significantly smaller than the Chiron2, five-round air inserts – positioned in the form of a diamond – ensure sufficient air intake for the iconic 16-cylinder engine. In this way, Bugatti has brought forward the visually leaping wedge of the EB110 SS into a new millennium."

I guess where my heart is at things remain the same Speed is the game for the Bugatti and off of the Chiron Platform you get the 8.0 Cylinder W16 engine this time around pushing 1,600 HP. The car saves 20 Kilograms of weight v and the Chiron, it can sprint up to 100 km in 2.5 seconds and reach 300 km 13.1 seconds ... Let's put it this way a Kia Stinger GT will be reaching the 1/4 mile when this thing has just 190 MPH, can you say rocket ship. In all, it's another strong effort for Bugatti with this new release and another car that may be stuck behind a glass collecting dust as it falls into the appreciation territory.
