6 is better than 8? 2016 BMW M4
So you can rev to over 8,000 rpm and you have the mighty E92 V8. There is something special about it. I have a love for all previous M3 coupes but you can't deny what has happened. BMW is starting to figure out that good old formula again and it comes in the way of weight savings, if its lighter with the same power, pretty easy to see what comes up next......
The M4 does some pretty impressive things with just 425hp and 400lb torque (Is Bavaria telling a fib) and we know how the Germans always under rate the cars. The BMW performance wise appears to be in the top 3 for all around performance and has the name power so it gets passes here and there (Star player for a sports team). Running through the corners with any of these cars is essentially like slicing bread with a diamond knife. Real world differences in performance will be muted by driver skill but the numbers are the numbers so why is BMW top three and not top 1.
BMW personal dilemma:
1. Mercedes Benz has come on strong, very strong and the interior with exterior mimicing the ground breaking S-Class this car is tough to beat. Yes the C-Class can turn now and thats a big problem.
2. Yes I am a bit biased but the Cadillac with the rebates, this car has come along way. The only demerits as most have stated the exterior needs more sex appeal and the interior gauges/cue could use a lay out update. Other than that this is the best compromise of both worlds performance and luxury.
So the Bimmer could easily be first in other magazine but we just want them to push the envelope once again to much the competitors to the drawing boards. I expect to see in the near future hybrid mixes (think of Porshe 918) for all of these vehicles as the industry moves for efficiency and cleaner breathing product.
