When you make an introduction like the one below and it doesn't have the word Plaid or Tesla in the surname you have to wonder what the future holds for electric cars with a vehicle that hallmarks a lot of Tesla's special engineers. 

Introducing the Sapphire brand from Lucid, with the Lucid Air Sapphire, the world's first luxury electric super-sports sedan

• Lucid Air Sapphire features three motors, carbon-ceramic brakes, aerodynamic package, new sport seats, and track-tuned suspension for a sublime driver-focused sporting experience
• Sub-two seconds 0-60 mph, sub-four seconds 0-100 mph, sub-nine seconds quarter mile, and top speed exceeding 200 mph
• Production begins in first half of 2023

Lucid touts itself as the 1st Super Luxurious Sports Sedan ... Super Luxurious is the operative word as tests have shown the Plaid being able to keep up, but no one can call the Plaids interior a glass of fine wine, maybe more so a glass found at Ikea looks good but skimped on Quality. 

The Plaid introduces the masses to a performance EV that can finally handle the one thing missing from the ever increasing 0-60 superstars that just throw in anything with a Tri-Motor push gas and say good bye to 99% of cars on the road. It's a special car that may be priced right for exclusivity but not good enough to keep Lucid out of bankruptucy.
