BMW M5 HYBRID 2025 SEDAN AND TOURING.... IT'S HEAVY 

The Brand New M5 Hybrid has just been released, and from a looks department it hits back with muscles that would make Ryan Garcia reevaluate how much stimulant to make this car move. Let's get the elephant out of the room up front, it's a Hybrid, it still has the 4.4L V8 TT but the electric power comes at a cost - 5,547 lb estimated costs. Mind you we have a long term X5M Comp, that weighs in at the same size but it can move so we'll wait and see, but this seems to be a vehicle that won't move record numbers around the Nurburing vs the BMW M5 CS.  What this BMW does possibly keep is the straight away, long trip, straight line saloon driving which may be all the boxes it needs to tick. 

  

DriveTrain is code named S68B44T0 V8 for all of you engine heads, its familiar territory mated to the long used ZF 8 Speed transmission and in this iteration it pumps out 585 HP from the ICE to all 4 wheels.  The electric motor contributes up to 194 hp to the maximum system output and up to 207 lb-ft to the maximum system torque that is tucked in between the transmission to take away any jet lag from the turbo's meaning instant thrust. maximum system output of the caar with the engine twerking is 717 hp between 5,600-6,500 rpm, and maximum system torque of 738 lb-ft between 1,800-5,400 rpm. That total should thrust big momma to 60 in about 3.5 seconds. Say what you want but BMW is an understimator therefore assume this is 800 HP with 750 LB TQ and 0-60 that should at least match last generations F90 Competition 3.2 Seconds 0-60 time. 

  

5 Drive Modes available including a pure electric mode for those that want to save the trees that can get you 80 miles somewhere on it's own, but when all the juices are pumped with the ICE, there's a slight boost so you can try and catch up to a Tesla Plaid or Lucid Sapphire that gets the power up between 30 to 150 KM per hour.  A staggered position 285 20 wheels up front and 295 21s to the rear help give this beauty that additional pump security, mounted with the 4WD or 2WD if you chose this makes this M the most interesting wait and see vehicle ever. One that will tell us if the BMW M5 CS was the last true M, or BMW gave us a last hurrah before electrification completely takes over. Let's wait for the car to get the full review.
