With a new election comes a new start, the tides for the votes are running towards Red and my lord are they hot red in the Future of the ZR1. Chevorlet throws the middle finger at the EPA numbers and gives what is the probably the last hoorah for V8, Loud Sounds, in the most powerful ever released in American history that you can buy at a showroom floor near you. The ZR1 has a long history of being the baddest American Super Car you can get, yea we had some competition in the past from the SRT branch in the form of the Viper but realistcally due to obscolences this is the only volume American Super Car that exists so Merica had to swing for the hills with this one, with a split rear return for the faithful. 

 

5.5L Twin Turbo V8 needed some suspension and cooling elements to handle the task that is probably at hand, with weight 76lb higher than the Z06 we believe Chevy is underestimating the 1/4 mile under 10 seconds unless perhaps the tires really can't keep straight on the pavement which is more than likely the case.  Enhancement for cooling straight from Chevy's Mouth as a redline of 8,000 rpms certainly needs it : 

  • Flow-through hood: Air enters the front grille, flows through the intercooler heat exchanger and exits the hood to increase front downforce and cool charged air temperatures.
  • Carbon fiber side profile air ducts: Clean, cool air is funneled through ducts, which are cleanly integrated into the signature wishbone bezel behind the cabin doors to cool the rear brakes through an intricately designed system that doesn’t impact rear wheel travel
  • Unique fresh air intake ducts: Carbon fiber inlets located on top of the coupe rear hatch ingest air to cool the turbo compressor inlet air temperatures

Aerodynamics - If Track is your choice the ZTK package is the focus

  • High-downforce rear wing, front dive planes, and a tall hood Gurney lip – all constructed from woven carbon fiber.
