Yes folks a new era in the automotive industry has come America is packing punches returning to the day of yester year but without the 6,000lb and an emblem so big it blocked your view of the plate of anything in front of you. Let’s take a step back Cadillac came in the game in the mid 2000’s with the CTS V sedan that was a great effort but some called it a one hit wonder packing 400hp 395lb torque with the mighty corvette derived LS engine. That turn the heads but then they came there high speed bullet train in the STS V, that packed a supercharged north star giving us 469hp 439lb torque with handling that was trying to get close to its German rivals. That was the start but the true beginning came at the release of the second generation CTS V packing 556hp and 551lb of torque. This had the german car manufacturers scrambling Scheisser es im speil. But still Cadillac and its competitors had a dilemma it was a tweener, a position less player. Kinda Like a 6’8 NBA player who lacks a shot from the outside or the speed to stay with small forwards, doesn’t have the strength to keep up with the bigger PF, but has amazing handles and athletic ability where do you play him. So Cadillac could’ve been like Golden State Warriors (that’s NBA team) and create position less cars and let the market figure it out (Golden state has a lot of these players) but it decided to create positions and start to carve out some of the market previously held by Euro and Japanese automakers.
Here is the ATS V a car that we have been waiting for, a car that you don’t have to park away from the rest of the car club and fits right in with any High End Car watch video on youtube. This vehicle has set a new bar for American car manufacturers and I think the English are coming to (Jaguar XE) reminds us of World War 2. What’s different is it evolution or straight up focus on beating thee germans. It seems to be a little of both, the car is wickedly quick the interior though subtle can play ball. This is truly a car that exudes confidence and is essentially the best drivers car in the market out of the aforementioned german players. Ever notice how quickly pac man turns in the video game the turning is truly something out of the Ancient Aliens series and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was tuned by the Greys. I am willing to wager that this car will spank every current german car in 2015 in its segment around a track of your liking. So kudos to all the Auto Magazines this is not a hype train this is the truth, GM definitely didn’t pay me to write this.
Downsides
Sound: Let it all hang it already has turbo’s drowning it out. The CTS V sport has a nice ring why not this.
Space: These Caddies are tighter but no tighter than the Germans
Technical: If Cadillac really wanted to put a hurt on the Germans start first with the transmission. I think its holding this car back except in manual form. The 8 speed needs to be tweaked.
Visuals: Lower the car, add the CTS V Gauge Cluster. Some additional fender will also give it a wider stance.
Price: 74,500 for the coupe ….ouch. I guess you got to pay to have the best drivers car on the market.
